about

hi, i’m forest chaffee (they/them.) i grew up with wampanoag land and ocean (cape cod, ma) close with marsh, tides, animals, and my dear ones. my bachelors & masters degrees in architecture focused on sacred space and social spaces that nurture diversity and well-being for all.

i helped create a literacy center with the northern cheyenne tribe in montana. i worked with community in rural alabama to hear people’s voices and create a community space together. i worked in minimalist architecture in nyc for 7 years followed by 13 years of intensive training and sharing interpersonal neurobiology, somatic depth empathy, systems healing, and trauma integration, mostly in the pacific northwest. during this time i created an empathy & photography story series honoring our wholeness.

i help people experience life beyond binaries so they can integrate, embody, and live their wholeness. i am the founder of empathy stories which helps orgs building social equity + environmental regeneration to convey their systemic impact clearly. you can check out more of my projects below. if you’d like to explore “being with” together please fill out the “connect” form on the home page.
